Homemade Cliff Bar Recipe
This Recipe can be modified and made into whatever you want it to be. The only thing I would not change is the amount of Nut Butter and Honey and the dry ingredients.
Melt together:
1 C. nut butter ( I used Peanut Butter)
1 C. Honey
Once melted add 1 teas Vanilla
In a large bowl add:
5 cups of dry ingredients (I used 5 cups of old-fashioned oats - but you can use rice crispy cereal and oatmeal combo or all rice crispy cereal)
Then you can add 1/2 cup of the other add ins you choose to the dry ingredients:
Here are some ideas:
chocolate chips
butterscotch chips
coconut
dried cherries
dried cranberries
raisins
walnuts
pecans
peanuts
almonds
Mix the melted peanut butter and honey mixture into the dry ingredients until coated well. Press into a greased 9X13 pan. Chill in the fridge for a couple hours and cut into squares or bars.
I keep mine in the fridge in an airtight container. They never last long enough for me to know how long they would stay fresh. They are delicious and nutritious. I put them into individual zip lock bags for a quick grab and go snack!
